Fitness Model Phil Atlas

This past week I had the opportunity to photograph fitness model/pro wrestler Phil Atlas. We had an awesome shoot, and I wanted to share one image that not only has a great side of Phil, but also has great post processing, which I’ll explain about.

The process for developing this photo was first given to me by Andy Armstrong at design|house, and I modified it a bit using a few other tips and tricks I’ve gathered in photoshop. I typically use design|house as my first choice of software for all my photo edits.

Good luck to Phil and Christina as they head out to California at the end of the month. Take care!

Hey there, nice picture. I know it is kind of stupid to ask the secrets of a craftsman, and the whole intention of using photo editing software is to hide some glitches that might reduce the quality of the work and ofcourse for enhancing purposes. But as a student of photography and photoediting, I would like to see some other examples where the pictures after and before the photo editing look like. Thanks in advance. It would be wonderful if you could point me to good sites for research on photo editing.

Hey Progeria. There’s a lot of sites to look at when it comes to this … two of my major influences are the following …

Andy Armstrong – http://www.getdesignhouse.com

Mike Long (Pindora’s Box) – http://www.pinupworkshops.com/pindora.html

[...] and I met through Phil Atlas, and we had a great shoot to make sure that she also has lots of great images to go to California [...]
